Security measuresPersonalizationOptions available to a user in this payment system are defined by that user’s status embedded in the number of the digital passport. Read more about personalization and digital passports for users here. Checking the counterpartyPrior to the deal you can always check your counterparty. This can be done either through the counterparty’s info request form, or directly in the system before approving the deal (next to the field where you enter your counterparty’s account number there’s a link to the information about him). Antiphishing optionTo make sure you really work where you think you do – use the antiphishing option while working with your personal account. To use the antiphishing option: In the Security section there’s the Antiphishing settings option. There you need to create a welcoming phrase which you’d like to see each time you access your personal account and while using the service. After you have created such a phrase you always will be able to see it at the top of the personal account interface. If when accessing the personal account you see a phrase different from what you have created or don’t see anything please do not use the service and contact our security department. You can find their contact details at the contacts section. The security department works 24 hours a day. 1-click paymentThe 1-click payment option allows to either permit or forbid using your account for operations with a merchant and in this way payments for anything in the Internet. If this option is on you can use the merchant without any limitations. If the option is off operations are possible only with deeply integrated “safe” system users and you won’t be able to pay for goods and services of outside web stores connected to the system. The 1-click option is included into all system products and is on by default (so you can pay for goods and services through the system’s merchant). Access with IPAccess with some IP address can limit the number of points from where you can use the system. You can set one or a list of IP addresses allowed to access and use the system. For your convenience you can store the list of authorized IP addresses and switch that option off and when necessary switch it on. When the Access with IP option is on any IP not in the list is forbidden from access. For safety reasons our system is not sending the PIN code for e-mail access of a user to access the system. Please note that in case your IP address changes you will be able to access the system only after the administration has your written acknowledgement thereof. Please also note that written requests are only accepted from users who have passports in the Trusted group. Single-use keysThe system can be also accessed with a single-use key. This option can be activated in the Security section of any system product. It is an extra security feature. It will be necessary to enter a single-use security code when accessing the system. The table of single-use keys contains 15 keys utilized one by one in sequence. So at the first entry the system will ask you for the key number 1, at the second entry – number 2, at the third – 3 and so on. The last fifteenth key will be in use until you generate a new table of keys. This option can be switched on and off without generating a new table. The table of keys can be generated again at any time. This will make the previous table void. For users’ convenience the table can be printed out. Please keep the single-use keys table in the safe place if this security option is on. The system will not let you in without the relevant key. This option can be switched off only when you access the system using the next key. There are 2 tries allowed. After the third unsuccessful try the user’s account will be blocked forever. If the table is lost the access can be restored only after a written request from a user who has a digital passport in the Trusted group. Magic wordThis option adds extra protection for your account. When you set up this option (in the Security section) you need to invent some magic word, for example “Welcome, Susan” If you access your account and this feature is on you’ll be asked to enter some selected symbols from the phrase you’d created. For example, the system can ask you to enter the first, fifth, eighth and last symbols from the magic word. In this case the correct answer will be “Wo,n”. Please note that required input is case sensitive. There are three tries for entering the magic word. On the forth unsuccessful try an e-mail alert is sent to the user and access to the account is blocked for 24 hours. Login changeThe option to change your login is included in any system product. We recommend that you change it regularly. Password changeThe option to change your password is also a basic feature of any system product. Same as with the login we recommend that you change it regularly. Payment password changeThe payment password is used when you approve some financial transaction. This password needs to be entered to make any new transaction. We recommend that you change your payment password regularly. Certificate reissuingElectronic digital certificates issued by the system have an expiry date. When a certificate expires it is not possible to access the system any more. So your certificate needs to be regularly reissued. The system reminds about the expiry date of the certificate each time you access your account. One month before the expiry the system will start to remind you that your certificate needs to be reissued. Moreover the expiry date is stated in the certificate itself and can be always checked in its properties. It is possible to reissue the certificate at any time even before the expiry. For example if you think that someone unauthorized has gained access to your certificate. The certificate can be reissued in the Security section of your account. Using IDENTIDENT is a pseudo anonymous identification which you can use in the system instead of your ID when making deals. An ID of a user in the Elios Gold system is composed of 15 digits and is hard to memorize. So you can use any word you find convenient to memorize as your IDENT. IDENT can be created in the Security section of any system product. IDENT can contain Latin letters and digits. When you change IDENT you don’t have to enter the old one just type in the new. However imagine the following situation: Some user A has used his IDENT for some fraudulent transaction and then discarded it at some point (took it out of active use in the system). At the same time some other user B picks up this IDENT and receives all claims from the fraud victim. To prevent this from happening IDENT similar to one which has just been deleted can be created only in 45 days. IDENT is pseudo anonymous because your counterparty cannot see your true ID but the system can. IDENT can be used by a user who has a digital passport in the Trusted group. ResumeWe take security of our users and partners very seriously and offer a wide range of system security measures. It may seem that these measures are excessive but there’s no such thing as too much security. We promise to continue to develop new ever more secure services offering our users maxim system security. |
